I had such an amazing time with Katie & Dan for their Vail Sonnenalp wedding. I met with Katie here in Vail a few months before her wedding while she visited with her brother. Dan was away on deployment when we met and Katie was diligently making all the arrangements for them. Katie grew up visiting Vail with her family as her super sweet grandmother (whom I didn’t meet until the wedding day of course) has owned a place in Vail for decades. Katie has memories here that span her whole life and I could just see the excitement in her face as we talked about the new memories she would make on the big day. And amazing memories were definitely made on the wedding day. Her mother and whole group of bridesmaids were so much fun and made me laugh almost every minute throughout the day. When I met Dan for the first time in the morning of the wedding, it was easy to see why they were so perfect for each. Dan is as kind and welcoming as he is handsome and his groomsmen were super easy to hang out with. They even gave me the history of the marine uniform and sword which was super cool. The weather could not have been more perfect and after a touching ceremony at the Vail chapel, we did portraits throughout Vail village with a stop at Katie’s grandmothers condo for a pizza break. The Sonnenalp has to be one of my favorite spots for a wedding reception and the decor by Vintage Magnolia was absolutely beautiful. Everyone partied and danced the night away to celebrate these two wonderful people and I’m so glad that I could be a part of their perfect wedding day.
