The greatest part of being a destination wedding photographer is the people you get to work with. Tyler & Mercedes will forever be two of my favorites. Tyler and I have known each other for almost 20 years, beginning in the 7th grade in Rockford, Illinois. After high school we only saw each other on occasion and even less when I moved to Colorado. It wasn’t until our high school reunion when we reconnected and he hosted several parties for our mutual friends over the weekend and even gave me his guest room. He has always been a kind, welcoming and giving person and it was only a few months later when he met the girl of his dreams, Sadi.
Before I knew it Tyler & Mercedes were engaged and I was back in Illinois for their engagement portraits. Getting to know Sadi was as easy as it gets. She is as kind and welcoming as Tyler and together they make an absolutely gorgeous couple. Along with their daughter, Ellie, they had one of those flawless wedding days. Perfect temperature, perfect venue, beautiful details, wonderful friends and family, and probably the most fun I have ever had with a bridal party. I mean..the bride and bridesmaids threw their bouquet’s, the groomsmen threw the groom. Doesn’t get much better.
Their love for each other was mirrored by all of those around them and the celebration for their wedding was one of the most energetic I have seen. At the end of the night Tyler & Sadi gave me a big hug and said “That was amazing! We feel like we just got out of a night club!” and after their sparkler send off and portrait, they headed out for their honeymoon.
